Who Built The Strangest House?
Sara Winchester was a rich woman who lived in California during the late 19th century. For some unknown reason, she decided to add one extra room to her house every year. By the time she died in 1922, the house had 160 rooms, and covered more than six acres!
Most of the rooms in her house were never used. Some were too small, some very large. Stairways led nowhere, windows opened onto blank walls. The house had eight stories, three lifts, 40 fireplaces, 2,000 doors. 10,000 windows, and long secret passage ways and hallways.
Today this strange house has been converted into a museum and anybody can go and see it from inside!
